Nugget and his eight siblings came to Awesome Possumz in April of 2022 after their mother was hit by a car and killed.  They were only seven weeks old and were just starting to open their eyes.  When they were all about three months old, he started to display small neurological tremors, which caused his siblings to start picking on him.  As this can often lead to cannibalistic behavior, the decision was made to separate him from his siblings.  As he continued to grow, the tremors lessened and eventually stopped but, by that time, Nugget had gotten too used to people and was no longer a good candidate for release.  His siblings took off for their lives in the wild, but Nugget became an Ambassador and began his life's work of helping us to educate people about the awesomeness of opossums!
